Laurie's lost class ring

I graduated from South Gate High School 3 months after my 17th birthday in 1970. I met my future husband that summer, who was also in my graduating class. I had purchased my class ring and had my name engraved, but he never got one. He wanted to wear mine after we married in 1971 and I let him. We went to the beach one day, he went in the water with it and came out without it. I've always wondered if someone finally found it buried under the sand. I hope so!

Here are two pictures of me with my then-future husband, Eddie. If you look closely, my forever-lost 1970 class ring is on his baby finger on his right hand.

Response from OMF:

What a sweet & sad memory. I'm so glad you at least have these lovely photos of your lost ring & of Eddie & you--I love how candid the photos are & you are such a beauty! I lost my black specs in the ocean in Delaware a few years back--I'm hoping it's good luck to lose something to the sea.
