Fashion tip: Look at the lining of your jacket or pants to find a matching color or print for your top.
A favorite store that moved away: United Colors of Benetton (still has U.S. locations, no online shopping option).
A favorite French company that stopped selling its products to the U.S.:
La Redoute (http://www.laredoute.com/)--oh wait, maybe they're back!
A favorite local boutique that went out of business: Composition. What store do you miss?
...we may need to arrange for opera tickets, so we have a reason to dress up.
What item have you had that got a hole in it, wore through, or got torn up? What do you have that has holes or snags intentionally torn in it?
Wrap London (www.wraplondon.com) Boden (www.bodenusa.com) Poetry (http://www.poetryfashion.co.uk) Pure Collection (http://www.us.purecollection.com)
Long Tall Sally(www.longtallsally.com)--all these English companies offer exceptional products to Americans with flat rate shipping and surprisingly quick delivery.
How often do you wear all black?
I learned its power in high school. By college, I was more likely to wear all white with a smidgen of black (perhaps the shoe)--a touch of malice :-) . Today I wear all black about twice a month. Never fails to make me feel strong and professional.
Still can't purchase H&M online, but at least now you can look more closely online at each item they sell. Dress above comes in four colors, and I think it might also work as a tunic. Will check it out this weekend and let you know.
Kids' athletic shoes cost so much less, and they're the same style as adults'. Whatever your size in women's shoes, just subtract between 1 and 2 sizes, and there's your size in boys. For instance, if you wear a women's size 8, you probably wear about a boys' size 6 or 6 and a half. You can also size your feet on the kids' sizer in the shoe department at any store.

Crochet has been popular for some time, but lately it's really come into its own as we see crochet skirts, dresses, shorts, and embellishments. The allure is not surprising given the trend for clothes to reveal an understated sexuality, to give subtle glimpses of skin. I've had a hard time finding a crochet sweater under $100, so I was excited to come across Piperlime's extensive collection of open weave, mesh, lace, and crochet sweaters. You'll find several more at: http://piperlime.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=59501
...the jewelry, mostly from Dogeared.com for the 7th year in a row--simple, affordable, easy to layer.
Do you love or hate the mall? In the wii game Mario Kart you can whiz through the mall in a go-cart.
Sometimes I do a quick “drive-through” when I just speed through all the stores to see what’s happening.
But mostly I prefer to shop from my couch. One or two stores charge more online than in the store, but most are the same.
Love the ruched, beaded sleeves on this top! Use code 15407 for $20 off plus free shipping.
