How lucky am I? So many treats & so much love on my birthday! My BFF Tami even got me the Zara sweater I was craving! I'm so spoiled! Here it is with the two outfits I hoped the sweater might work with. |

Warm breezes, cool water, simplicity and peace--who doesn't love the ocean? Colors from the ocean seem be washing into stores for spring. The latest is light aqua or sea foam... In your closet... Chances are you already own some sea foam that you can pull out. Try pairing ocean colors with the color of sand. Here are some sea foam items I own...
A post about another color inspired by the sea... We got about a foot of snow where we are in Denver. How much did you get? I hear the coats that everyone's wearing in NY are Canada Goose. They run $500 and up, but they are NICE! I love a white puffer. This white Duster Down Coat from Athleta is plenty good for me.

You have to go to the concert to get one like this, but a bunch of others are available online and at the Furthur Store (see below). |

The first trait that attracts me to a store is style, of course. But what makes me fall miserably in love are low prices. Zara has both. And with free shipping & returns on every order (yes!), it seems love is in the air. Zara is Spanish in origin with nearly 2,000 stores worldwide, just under 50 so far in the U.S. It's one of the most popular stores in Europe and, as The Guardian reported last week, it has taken London's High Street by storm. Not everything is lovely at Zara, of course, and I'm tempted to draw a mustache on their automaton model, but I've fallen in love with all these looks below, and I'm about to make my first purchase. Do you have a Zara where you live? Have you ordered from them online? Are you in love? |
I'm torn between these two sweaters--which one do you like better? |

I want to look more professional, maybe by just adding a suit jacket or blazer to my usual look, but I don't know how to wear them without looking dull and uptight. Any suggestions? --Roxy
Dear Roxy,
I totally know what you're talking about. A finely dressed feline wants the smart, put together look of a blazer without looking like a tom. Blazers are more popular than ever right now. Here are my tips to help you look feminine and fun, not stiff and masculine:
1. Dress it down. Pair the blazer with skinny jeans or pants or with a dress, not with suit pants.
2. Go unstructured. Choose soft fabrics, cropped styles, and soft shoulders.
3. Look for feminine details like piping, ruching, and belts. Or add your own belt.

Roll it upUnstructured, cropped jacket with piping, rolled up & layered over a dress. Try a cropped blazer over a patterned dress. | Belt itAdd a belt to your sweater jacket. Forever 21 carries a great unstructured, soft knit jacket in 7 colors, 4 sizes. Dress it down with jeans or skinnies. Tomorrow: how to look smart and feminine in a blazer
My kids and I have watched the video and its sequel T-shirt War 2 about a dozen times :-).
I wish my t-shirt could make me taller. What do you wish your t-shirt could do?
