Do you have any sandals or shoes that zip down the back? I saw this trend last spring, but it's really taking off now. Do you like the trend? I haven't decided if I like it or not, but I did read one review that said the zip makes the shoe easier to take on & off. One thing to take into account: the zippers have a quality all of their own. A cheap zipper will make the shoe seem cheap. Here are zippered shoes & sandals at all prices. Most come in several colors... From Anthropologie... This is just a few of the Anthropologie sandals & shoes that zip down the back. For more click here. This shoe looks like it would span seasons well... Maybe because it's minus-zero degree temperatures outside, I have a craving for a Russian faux fur hat. My husband says you shouldn't wear even fake fur since someone might think it's real, but these look so cozy, & they seem like they wouldn't give you hat-hair as much as a ski hat. Would you wear one?
Have you used ShopStyle, Flit, or other comparison shopping websites much? I usually just search my favorite stores on my own. I feel like the shopping sites are limited to certain stores--do you think that's true? But sometimes they can help you find the best deals. I recently searched for a suede bootie. I wanted a heel that was not too high & not too low, & I didn't want a western flair. I found the options below (organized from least to most expensive) through ShopStyle, through a google search, & on my own. I've started to believe that it's worth spending a little more on shoes because you wear each pair so many times & often for several years. Any guesses on which bootie I picked? Which one would you pick? Don't forget: If you see a shoe you like in a store or catalog, get its exact name & look it up online. Many manufacturers will carry it, & you may find a lower price. Also, you really should never pay for shipping when it comes to shoes--almost everyone ships them for free. Funny how showing a little shoulder seems somehow more risqué than just going sleeveless. But showing off your shoulder tops might be just right, especially in 98 degree temperatures. Why not give 'em the cold shoulder? More cold-shoulder, split-sleeve, & sheer tops here... Swimsuits cost too much, don't you agree? It's one of those times I'll hazard any alternatives to find more affordable choices. Seeing spots... Retro is in. If you love dots & stripes, check out dELiA's, Alloy's, and Old Navy's swimsuits--cute & affordable. My summer swimsuit... My suit for this summer comes from two unlikely sources: my top was on sale last summer at Long Tall Sally, a British clothing company for tall women (I'm not tall), and my skort is from Lands' End girls' department. Girls' swimwear is less than half the cost of women's. Lands' End Girls' Plus sizes will fit women up to about a size 10. Ask me for help with the sizing if you're thinking of ordering a girl's suit for you. As Mother's Day and the end of the school year approach, here's a gift idea for Mom and for the teachers in your life. Show your love with a tablet or laptop sleeve covered in hearts. Designs for PC or Apple. Make a card in the shape of a big heart to go with it. For added love, fill the sleeve with treats like chocolate, pens that actually write, a Starbucks gift card, hand lotion, and maybe some lavender-scented hand-sanitizer to help her stay well until summer! Hearts, flowers, & butterflies for spring... (also comes in 26 other designs) >> Fits Macbooks. Other great gifts for Mom/teachers: Flowers are sprouting like mad this spring. I prefer my florals ditsy, subtle, sheer, or in a tiny print. Who says I'm ditzy? I'm crazy for this floral shift dress. Love sheer! ![]() Urban Outfitters Shakuhachi Cosmosis Leather Floral Print Dress, $299 The most lovely print ever but only a celebrity could afford it :-) I woke up this morning mad for plaid! I'll be looking for plaid outerwear this spring. Are you mad too? Which jacket do you like best? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. I'm typically not much of a scarf person except as outerwear, but finding these lovely viscose scarves for $6.77 and up at Amazon made me reconsider. Try some of these off-center tying ideas from Anthropologie. More ideas on how to tie a scarf. All images from Anthropologie. Why off-center?
