Recent dumb purchases...
Let's start with this dress that I ordered from England on ebay. It came & was way too sparkly for me--rhinestones all across the shoulders on the back! I begged the seller to let me return it. She did! But I had to send it back to England, which ended up costing me the exact same amount as the dress cost.
Resulting loss: initial shipping cost, which was about $15

Next up...my glasses. I picked out these glasses (below) with a gift card! Ran to optometrist (ReplaceALens), paid around $120 to replace lenses with my prescription. But the frames were too heavy for my face, hurt the bridge of my nose, & felt awkward. Went to Costco eyewear counter; they put old reading lenses back in frames (for free). I returned the glasses to Anthropologie and picked out the pink-framed pair (below). Took lenses from first pair back to ReplaceALens. ReplaceALens cut the first lenses down to fit the second pair of frames!
Result: happy customer with new glasses. Mistake amended but what an ordeal!

Last but not least (I'm sure there are more dumb purchases, but just these three come to mind): this skirt. I loved this skirt when it was sold by Zara in December of 2014 but didn't buy it because it was too expensive. So I jumped to buy it when I found it on Poshmark for $15. But it was only in a small, & I wear a medium. Bought it anyway--it's pretty tight, can't return it. Also a rather difficult genre--I'd have rare opportunities to wear it!
