Peplum is a flounce of folds decorating the waist of a skirt or the bottom of a jacket or top. Over the past year, princesses and celebrities have donned this elegant style that harkens back to the 1940s. Anthropologie, ASOS, H&M, and others have embraced peplum and updated it for everyday wear.
I like the tailored cut of peplum. Paired with nice pants or a pencil skirt, a peplum top might make a great alternative to a jacket in a professional work outfit. Peplum is also touted for hiding figure flaws since it accentuates a high waistline and creates the illusion of an hourglass figure.
