I don't regret wearing the orange polyester jumpsuit with a yellow turtleneck for my 4th grade photo day. I don't regret (too much) that I wore all white for a college award ceremony & for a scholarship interview (I was in an all-white phase). I do regret that I spent $12 on shipping a pair of ankle boots from ebay just now & then spent another $16 to return them.
The not-so-pretty boot I had to wear for a while A twinge in my foot as I walked to the bus stop the other day reminded me of another shoe regret from the past...
I was so glad to wear for the first time this lovely dress (below) from Indonesia that my friend Chadijah had given me. I was going out to lunch & had chosen the only sandals I had at the time that I thought might look nice with it: some not-so-comfortable strappy black heels. I ended up having to park a ways from the restaurant, & by the time the walk there & back was over, I had strained my foot. I spent the next several weeks in a boot far less attractive then my ugliest shoes :-)
Lesson learned: always wear comfortable boots if you'll be walking around!
