The jury's still out

Here's what I wore to jury duty yesterday:

I had lunch with a friend downtown, and she said, "They're sure to pick you for the jury--you look so put together!"

I was inspired by the outfit to the right from J.Crew to mix orange with black or gray or black and white. I invested about $15 in the vibrant melon
J. Crew top to give the color combo a try, and I figured jury duty was a good place to test-drive it.

The cardigan, by the way, is GAP maternity. It's a fun sweater with a removable fur color. It's not available anymore, but don't overlook one-button maternity cardigans--great for showing off what's underneathe!

Seems to me from my voyages around the web that orange and melon are still hot! GAP, among others, offers several orange tops, pants, and skirts.

What will I wear to jury duty today? Alas, I don't have to worry about it because I got released...which is ok too :-)

What's your judgement on orange with black or gray? Think it works? Or too Halloweeny?
Any other fresh color combinations we should try?
